We will continue our exploration of environmental data by getting some practice looking at some common open-source platforms for data access. This will also necessarily involve some understanding of file formats and metadata in order to understand what we’re looking at!
Later in the week, we’ll begin a tour of remote sensing fundamentals, including characteristics of satellite orbits, the electromagnetic spectrum and spectral bands, and satellite retrieval algorithms.
